About Me
Back in 2013, I took a leap of faith to do what I love. It’s a beautifully challenging path, but it's entirely worth it every time I get to help a Chicago family capture their pet's true spirit.
Marty, owner of Van and Bella’s Pet Photography Studio
As a self-taught pet photographer since 2013, I've perfected my craft working with seniors, high-energy pups, dark coats, timid personalities, and dog-reactive pets.
A little about me:
One day, while volunteering at the city shelter, I decided to become the best pet photographer in Chicago. Thirteen-plus years later, I'm still perfecting my skill. I regard myself as a dog whisperer first, and a photographer second.
I was born and raised in Chicago and question every winter and summer day why I’m still living here. A few years ago, I lost both of my rescue dogs within a single month: Bella, adopted from Chicago Animal Care and Control, and "Van" Gogh, a "foster fail" from Bombshell Bullies, at the ages of 15 and 14. I have since changed the name of my studio to honor them both.
You can find my work featured with local rescues like One Tail at a Time, PAWS Chicago, and Chicago Animal Care and Control.
